Intelligence, Espionage, and American Foreign Policy
Undergraduate course, Yale University, Jackson School of Global Affairs, 2025
GLBL 2392. Graduate teaching fellow for Professor Ted Wittenstein.
The course covers the theory and practice of intelligence and its relationship to American foreign policy and national security decision-making, including the analytic tools available for assessing international affairs and the problem of communicating that analysis to senior policymakers. Case studies run from the Second World War to the present and cover failures as closely as successes.
Managing the Clean Energy Transition
Undergraduate seminar, Yale University, Jackson School of Global Affairs, 2026
GLBL 3830. Graduate teaching fellow for Professor Paul Simons.
A seminar on the challenges facing advanced and developing economies as they pursue the goals of the Paris agreement while maintaining energy security and economic competitiveness. Students work through the architecture of global energy and climate governance, the constraints policymakers actually face, and the deployment prospects for the major clean energy technologies over the coming decades.

Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Technologies, and National Power I
Graduate seminar, Yale University, Jackson School of Global Affairs, 2026
GLBL 6610. Graduate teaching fellow for Professor Ted Wittenstein.
The first term of a two-term seminar, featuring guest scholars and practitioners from across the university, on how artificial intelligence may alter the basic building blocks of world order. After an introduction to the technology and its open research problems, the seminar works through seven areas where AI and adjacent technologies already raise security concerns: autonomous weapons and the character of conflict, disinformation and democratic resilience, U.S.-China competition, AI ethics and safety, AI governance, nanotechnology and quantum computing, and outer space. The aim is to give students enough technical fluency to work across the law, technology, and policy communities rather than within one of them.
Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Technologies, and National Power II
Graduate seminar, Yale University, Jackson School of Global Affairs, 2027
GLBL 6611. Graduate teaching fellow for Professor Ted Wittenstein.
The second term of the seminar, continuing the examination of how artificial intelligence may alter the basic building blocks of world order across autonomous weapons, disinformation, U.S.-China competition, AI ethics and safety, AI governance, nanotechnology and quantum computing, and space.
